Property groups allow your organization to group properties together in order to simplify configurations for mass campaigns and updates. Once a property group is created, your organization can add it to vendor lists, configure partition sets, messages, scenarios, etc... In this article, we will cover:
Note: Be advised that in order to successfully exercise your permissions on a property group you will need explicit access to the named property group and not individual access to the properties included in the property group.
Property group use cases
In this section, we will provide a brief overview of some common use cases for utilizing property groups in your Sourcepoint account.
Bulk configuration for multiple properties
Reduce duplicative efforts by configuring partition set(s), scenario(s), and message(s) once and have them applied to all properties included in the property group.
Single message framework with message variables for individual properties
Re-use the same message framework across properties in the property group with programmatic customization (message variables) for each property (e.g. background, colors, text/copy, links, etc...).
Publish campaign for multiple properties
Reduce duplicative efforts by publishing a single campaign (to either stage or public) for all properties in the property group.
Property group limitations
In this section, we will cover some limitations and additional considerations when using property groups.
- Sourcepoint currently does not support campaign launches to a subset of properties in a property group. Any campaigns launched for the property group will be applied to all properties in the property group.
- Message type (e.g. modal or inline) or custom CSS for a message will be applied to all properties in the property group. Use message variables for programmatic customization (e.g. branding the message) for different properties in the property group.
- If you are importing a partition set into the property group, any scenarios and messages associated with the partition set will not be imported.
