Add vendor count to first layer message (GDPR TCF)

A vendor count is an inline variable that can be added to any text field in your first layer message which will pull in the total number of vendors on the vendor list associated with the property. In this article, we will cover how to add the vendor count to an existing GDPR TCF first layer message.

Click Messages on the left-hand panel and select GDPR Messages.

Click Web/Webview (TCF) from the subsequent menu.

Use the property field in the upper right-hand corner to select a property for which you will edit a first layer message.

Ensure the First Layer tab is selected and click the Edit icon inline with a first layer message on the subsequent list.

From the first layer message builder, select any text component within the rendered first layer message and click Content in the right-hand Settings panel. 

Update the text component to include any additional language to explain the total vendor count. Click VC icon on the inline toolbar to add the vendor list count variable.

Use the subsequent dialog box to select which vendor count you wish to include in your first layer message. Your organization can either choose to include to count all vendors or only those vendors who have registered with the IAB TCF. 

The vendor count variable (for either all vendors or only IAB registered vendors on your GDPR TCF vendor list) will be added to the text component.
