MetaApp is an app published by Sourcepoint for android and iOS mobile devices that allow your organization to review and potentially debug your CMP campaigns on a mobile device. 

  Note: This article assumes that you have created messages, scenarios, partition sets, and launched a campaign to either a Stage or Public environment for an app property within the Sourcepoint portal.


Install MetaApp

On you mobile device, navigate to your app store and search for UnifiedMetaApp or click the links below. Follow the prompts to download the app onto your mobile device.

Create property in MetaApp

A property within MetaApp stores the relevant campaign information that is configured in your Sourcepoint portal for a single app property. When the property is launched within MetaApp, the campaign(s) that you have configured will execute in accordance with your campaign configuration. 

Click the + icon in the upper right-hand corner of MetaApp to add a new property.

Configure the property details:

Field Description
Account ID The account ID value associates the property with your organization's Sourcepoint account. Your organization's account ID can be retrieved by contacting your Sourcepoint Account Manager or via the My Account page in your Sourcepoint account.
Property

The name of the property as it is configured in the Sourcepoint portal. 

  Note: The property name is case-sensitive.

Auth ID Allows your organization to pass a consent identifier to Sourcepoint to be used with authenticated consent. Click here to learn more. 
Message Language Allows you to view different language versions of your messages if it has been configured in your first layer message and/or privacy manager. 
Toggle

The toggle allows you to pull campaigns from a Stage environment. By default, MetaApp will pull from the Public environment. Click here to learn more about campaign environments. 

  • Enabled: Stage environment
  • Disabled: Public environment

Next, click Add __ Campaign buttons to add the campaigns running on your property. You will be prompted to:

  1. Add the privacy manager ID
  2. Select the first tab visible when the privacy manager loads
  3. Input any targeting parameters that you have configured in your scenario and wish to demo in MetaApp.

Click Save Campaign when finished. Added campaigns will be listed under Campaigns List.

Click Save when finished. If successful, the property will load your campaigns automatically.


Clear MetaApp property data

Based on your configuration and actions taken when interacting with your campaign(s) the MetaApp property will store data such as:

  • GDPR UUID
  • CCPA UUID
  • EUConsent
  • GDPR Vendor Grants
  • CCPA Consent Status
  • Network Call Logs

To clear this data from a property, navigate to the Property List page of MetaApp and swipe left on the property. This will open the property editing menu. 

Click the reset icon.

Confirm the reset by clicking OK in the subsequent modal.

The data stored for the property will be reset and the property will load your campaigns automatically.


Edit MetaApp property 

To edit the details of a MetaApp property (e.g. edit campaign details or message language), navigate to the Property List page of MetaApp and swipe left on the property. This will open the property editing menu. 

Click the Edit icon.

Edit the details of the MetaApp property and click Save when finished.

Delete MetaApp property 

To edit the details of a MetaApp property, navigate to the Property List page of MetaApp and swipe left on the property. This will open the property editing menu.

Confirm the deletion by clicking YES in the subsequent modal.

Property Debug overview

Clicking a property in MetaApp will allow you to review the consent data based on your interaction with your messages.

From the property debug console, you can review the following data where applicable:

  • GDPR UUID
  • CCPA UUID
  • EUConsent 
  • GDPR vendor grants
  • CCPA consent status/rejected categories

Resurface privacy manager 

To resurface a privacy manager that is configured for a property in MetaApp, click the name of the property on the Property List page.

Select the privacy manager for the property that you wish to resurface.

View network call logs

MetaApp allows you to see the log of network calls made when interacting with your messages. To view this log, click the name of the property on the Property List page.

Click the hamburger icon in the upper right-hand corner.

Select Network Call Logs from the subsequent menu.

The subsequent screen will detail the network calls made based on the actions taken within your campaign. Click More in the upper left-hand corner to share these logs in a variety of formats.
