Dynamic language support for vendor list (GDPR TCF and GDPR Standard)

   Permission: Vendor list - GDPR

Vendor list information is surfaced to your end-users via your first layer message and/or privacy manager. In this article, we will cover how to add a translation for the following so that it is translated in first layer messages and privacy managers according to an end-user's browser language preference:

IAB or Sourcepoint provided translations (GDPR TCF)

While the IAB provides translations for IAB specific aspects of a GDPR TCF vendor list (e.g. IAB purposes and IAB stacks), your organization will have to provide translations for custom purposes and custom stacks.

Note: An exception is cookie storage information related to GDPR TCF 2.1. While this specification is IAB related, translations are supplied by Sourcepoint.

Provide a translation for the custom purpose by performing the following:

  1. Select a supported language from the Language translation field.
  2. Input the translation of the text in the Purpose title and Description fields.
  3. Repeat as necessary for other supported languages.

Click Apply changes when finished.

Click Save in the upper right-hand corner of the entire vendor list to confirm your translation.

When your first layer message or privacy manager is viewed by an end-user who has their browser default language set to your support language, they will see the custom purpose translated.
