Integration Hub
Sourcepoint's integration with Mailchimp allows your organization to collect end-user marketing preferences and to push those choices to Mailchimp. In this article, we will cover how to enable the Mailchimp integration for Sourcepoint Preferences.
To start, click Preferences on the left-hand panel and select Integration Hub tab on the subsequent menu.
Click + New Connection.
Prerequisites
Before continuing with the integration please be aware that you will need the following information to successfully complete the integration with Mailchimp:
- Mailchimp Portal ID
- Mailchimp Audience ID
- Mailchimp API Key
Overview
Review the workflow below for an overview of how to setup the Sourcepoint integration with Mailchimp:
Authenticate
From the New Connection modal, select Mailchimp from the Integration (Vendor) dropdown menu and give a name to this integration in the Connection Name field.
Next, add the following information in the provided fields:
- Mailchimp Portal ID
- Mailchimp Audience ID
- Mailchimp API Key
Note: Select the checkbox for Add Connection Categories after saving the connection if you wish to pull your categories from your Mailchimp account into Sourcepoint.
Click Save when finished.
Connection categories
After authenticating into your Mailchimp account, you can create connection categories for your Mailchimp integration in two ways:
Pull categories from Mailchimp
If you have selected the Add Connection Categories after saving the connection option during the authentication step, you will be directed to the connection category modal to begin the import of Mailchimp categories.
Note: This modal is always accessible from the Integration Hub page by selecting the gear icon underneath the Connection categories column.
Click the Pull Categories button to initiate the pull.
Sourcepoint will import the Mailchimp ID and Name for all of your Mailchimp categories into the connection categories.
Note: Remove any Mailchimp category from your connection categories by clicking the inline - icon. Connection categories created by pulling directly from Mailchimp are uneditable.
Click Save when finished.
Manually create connection categories
To manually create connection categories for your Mailchimp integration, click the gear icon underneath Connection categories.
Click + Add in the following modal.
Input an ID and Name for your connection categories in the provided fields and click the check to confirm the addition.
Note: Be aware that manually created connection categories within the Sourcepoint portal will not be pushed or synced into your Mailchimp account if there is no corresponding match to the ID used.
Click Save when finished.
Category mapping
With your Mailchimp integration successfully setup, your organization can now map these connection categories to your Marketing Preference categories in your Preferences configuration. Click here to learn more.
