Active status for Preferences configuration

The active status for a Preferences configuration allows your organization to quickly view and set a configuration as "live" for your organization. The distinction between active and inactive Preferences configurations is an important distinction when adding properties to your configurations. In this article, we will cover the following:

Properties on active vs inactive Preferences configurations

Properties added to a Preferences configuration will have the details configured in the configuration populated in that property's Preference Center message. This relationship means that for any given property, this message can only be associated with a single active Preferences configuration (i.e. it can only display the details for a single Preferences configuration to an end-user at any given time).

Note: If a property is associated with both an active Preferences configuration and an inactive Preferences configuration, the inactive Preferences configuration cannot be set to active until the property is removed from one of the Preferences configurations.

Note: If a property is associated with both an active Preferences configuration and an inactive Preferences configuration, the inactive Preferences configuration cannot be set to active until the property is removed from one of the Preferences configurations.
