Web metric details: Tracking tech detected

The Tracking tech detected metric covers the number of vendors found (per scan) that were observed on your selected properties utilizing  tracking technologies on its end-users. The metric details view enables your organization to view data visualizations for the compliance metric against your benchmarks and drill down into scanning results.  


Overview

The overview section of the metric details page is comprised of graphs that allow you to compare your relative score and average count for your selected properties against your benchmark properties for the metric.  

 Definitions

  • Average count: the average number of vendors per scan that fulfilled the criteria of the metric (e.g. non disclosed, triggered before consent, etc...)
  • Relative score: a percentile ranking that compares your selected properties against your benchmark properties for this particular compliance metric.

Tracking technologies

The following tracking technologies will be reported on via our scans:

Technology Description
Pixels Small trackers used in websites/emails for user behavior analytics and marketing.
Cookieless IDs Unique identifiers used to track users across sites without the use of cookies.
Chatbots Technology that is often AI-powered and used to interact with users and automate support.
Session Replays Technology that records user actions on sites/apps to understand behavior.

Detailed Breakdown

The detailed breakdown table lists vendor details that were observed on your properties and who were using tracking technologies within your selected periodization. Please refer to the table below for definitions for each vendor detail in the table.

Detail Description
Vendor name Name of observed vendor on your property(ies) who used a tracking technology. 
Vendor status Click here for more information.
Vendor categorization Categorisation is provided by Sourcepoint after rigorous and careful research into the vendor's data practices by reviewing the vendor's privacy policy with regards to the particular cookie or technology.
Tracking tech detected See Tracking technologies.

  Note: Filter the table by different headers by selecting the filter icon from a vendor detail header and apply filters via the dropdown menu. Click Save to apply the filters.

Vendor details

The vendor details page allows your organization to view specific information about the vendor. View the vendor details page by clicking the name of any vendor in the Detailed Breakdown table.

In addition to details found in the Detailed Breakdown table, the vendor details page will also include information related to the vendor such as:

Vendor details Description
First Seen The first date within your periodization where the triggered vendor was observed on your property(ies).
Last Seen The last date within your periodization where the triggered vendor was observed on your property(ies).
Prevalence (my properties) The prevalence of the triggered vendor across the selected properties.
Prevalence (benchmark) The prevalence of the triggered vendor across your selected benchmark properties.
Referrer Vendor

The vendor who owns the last web address accessed by the browser prior to triggering the vendor in question.

If triggered vendor is referred to by more than one vendor on your vendor list, click the number in the cell to view all referrer vendors.

Properties The name of the selected properties where the vendor was observed.

The Tech Information pane will include details on a per tracking technology basis. Click the tracking technology name in the tabs to view the details. 

Pixels Cookieless IDs Chatbots Session Replays

The Pixels tab will provide information regarding small trackers used in websites/emails for user behavior analytics and marketing. For each pixel technology, your organization can review:

Field Description
Pixels Name Identifier for a tracking pixel that shows where the pixel is coming from(host) and the specific data it tracks.
Source The origin of the pixel data. Indicates whether it comes from URL query parameters or browser cookies.
Parameters Passed Specific data sent with each pixel request.
Scan URL URLs containing the pixel during scanning. A HAR file can also be downloaded to view the origin and data flow of the pixel.
