Category mapping in Preferences configuration

Preferences configurations are configurable lists that capture your organization's specified marketing preference categories that is surfaced through your Preference Center message, its translations, and their mapping to your CMS integrations.

Category mapping refers to the relationship you define between the categories created in your Preferences configuration (which will be visible via your Preference Center message) and the connection categories for your integrations. 

In this article, we will cover how to perform the following

• Edit category mapping in Preferences configuration
• Delete category mapping in Preferences configuration

To start, click Preferences on the left-hand panel and select a Preferences configuration from the subsequent list. 

From the selected Preferences configuration page, navigate to the Categories and Connections section and click Category Mapping.

Select a category to edit from the category mapping modal and click the Edit icon inline with one of the mapped connections.

Edit the following fields for the connection:

• Connection
• Connection category*

Click the Check icon when finished.

Click Save to confirm the edits.

Delete category mapping in Preferences configuration

Select a category to edit from the category mapping modal and click the Delete icon inline with one of the mapped connections. Confirm the decision to delete the connection in the popup and click Yes.

The category will no longer be mapped to the connection and its connection category.

Click Save to confirm the deletion.
